Octo's Story
OUR PHILOSOPHY: A SUSTAINABLE TASTE OF TURKIYE
At Octo Istanbul, located in the heart of Karaköy, we believe that gastronomy is more than food — it's a story, a memory, and a deep connection to the land and its people. As a fine dining restaurant in Istanbul, our philosophy is rooted in honoring Türkiye's rich culinary heritage while embracing mindful, modern innovation.
Each dish is crafted with care using seasonal, locally sourced, and responsibly grown ingredients, in close collaboration with women-led cooperatives and small-scale producers across the country. This approach ensures authenticity, strengthens local economies, and keeps sustainability at the core of everything we do.
More than just a restaurant in Karaköy, Octo offers a sensory dining experience where traditional Turkish flavors meet contemporary creativity, and sustainability becomes part of modern luxury.

Reviews
At Octo Istanbul, every dish felt like a manifesto written with the cultural codes of Anatolia.
Sustainability, women's labor, and the creative vision were all reflected in the aesthetics of the plate. This table offered not just food, but a stance, a worldview. My connection with these flavors is no coincidence. It was truly a wonderful evening, I enjoyed it immensely.
And let's spread the word: the world's best Cretan mezze is made at Octo — that's a fact!

Octo is located on the 9th floor of JW Marriott in Karaköy. The view is breathtaking — from the Galata Tower to the Bosphorus Bridge, all of Istanbul is at your feet. We had the slow-cooked lamb shoulder, which was tender and absolutely delicious. The Istanbul Salad, brightened with unripe grape juice, offered a refreshing twist — both traditional and modern, with a playful touch. The trio of broad beans, avocado, and fava is definitely worth trying.

Under the guidance of one of Istanbul's finest chefs, Chef Şafak, we had an exceptional experience. The seafood and wine selection is excellent. Their specialties — shrimp with couscous and tarama — are highly recommended. The live music was also very enjoyable.

I absolutely loved it!! I highly recommend trying each of the seafood dishes — they were truly delicious. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed myself this much at a Michelin-recommended restaurant. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. The ambiance turned out to be quite romantic — we only realized that when we went as a girls' night out!
